About Wordle Solver
The candidate list is built the strict way the game implies: green letters hold their exact spots, yellow letters must appear somewhere other than the spot shown for them, and grey letters appear nowhere at all.
Candidates are ranked by information, not word frequency: a word that shows more letters you have never tried before cuts the remaining field faster, so the top of the list works as a strong next guess as well as a possible answer.
Questions about Wordle Solver
How do I enter green letters?
As five characters with _ for the unknowns: _a__e means a is green in the second spot and e in the fifth.
How do I enter yellow letters?
The same five-character way, marking where you saw them. The solver automatically rules out every yellow letter sitting in that same spot again, and keeps requiring it somewhere else.
Why is a word with new letters ranked first?
A guess that introduces unseen letters splits the remaining candidates better, so it is worth playing even when it is unlikely to be the answer.
What if nothing matches?
One of the clues was misread, most often a grey you forgot to enter. The page says so instead of inventing a near-fit word.
