About Scientific Calculator
Evaluate arithmetic expressions with scientific functions: a strict tokenizer reads the text, a recursive-descent parser applies precedence, and a stack machine walks the result one step at a time — no eval() is involved, so the steps shown are exactly the steps taken.
Switch trig between degrees and radians; asin/acos/atan return the unit you picked. log is base 10, ln is natural; sqrt, exp, abs, modulo, powers, pi, and e are supported.
Questions about Scientific Calculator
What order of operations does it use?
Powers and unary minus bind first, then * / and %, then + -. Chains of ^ are right-associative, so 2^3^2 means 2^(3^2). Parentheses change the order.
Can I write 2pi or 2(3+1) for multiplication?
No. Implicit multiplication is rejected so the steps can stay unambiguous: write 2*pi or 2*(3+1).
What does the % operator do here?
It is modulo, the remainder after division: 7 % 3 is 1. This page works on plain numbers, not percent signs.
Degrees or radians?
Pick one in the form: sin/cos/tan read angles in that unit and asin/acos/atan return results in it.
