About Image Converter
This page hands the file to ImageMagick's convert and writes the target format back to you unchanged in every other way. Quality drives the JPG and WebP encoders; PNG, GIF and TIFF are written losslessly or as they come.
The optional width keeps the aspect ratio: entering 960 caps the long side at 960 pixels and scales the other one proportionally, so screenshots and photos stay sharp enough for the web.
Nothing is cropped or rotated here. The download is a fresh file, and the original never leaves your device when you upload instead of linking.
Questions about Image Converter
Do I have to upload the file, or can I paste a link?
Either works: a direct https link to an image is fetched first, otherwise upload the file straight from your device.
Why does the quality setting not change my PNG?
Quality is a lossy-encoder knob. PNG and GIF are lossless palettes, TIFF is lossless here, so the setting only affects JPG and WebP output.
Is the converted file kept on the server?
It is written once for your download and rotated out shortly after; convert again if the link ever goes away.
Can I convert animated GIFs?
Yes, animated GIFs are carried over frame by frame; other targets take the first frame.
