About Step Counter Calculator

Distance is just step count times stride length; a 75 cm stride means roughly 1,333 steps to the kilometre, and every figure on the page follows from those two numbers.

Calories scale with body mass, not with step count alone, so the calorie column reads your weight in. The ladder runs from zero to your total in one printed row per rung, so you can read any distance off it.

Questions about Step Counter Calculator

Is the calorie figure for running too?

No. It assumes a steady walk with the stride you chose; running shortens the calorie cost per minute but not the per-metre maths, which this page does not model.

Why is my phone's distance different?

Pedometers count; they do not measure stride. A short parent-child stride or a stroller pushes the count up while the true distance stays lower.

Does uphill walking cost more?

Per step yes, and this page keeps the flat-terrain figure. Add a tenth to the calorie total for sustained climbs as a rough correction.
